How buying works

Buying a car, without the runaround.

Real photos, the seller's own price, and a direct line to whoever is selling.

Three steps

From search to a conversation.

  1. Search the cars

Filter by make, price, mileage and body style. Every car has photos straight from the seller, with the mileage, VIN and details on the page.

  2. See the price up front

You see the seller's asking price. Dealers show their documentation fee right next to it, and an estimated out-the-door total when they've set their fees. A rating shows how the price compares with similar cars here.

  3. Talk to the seller

Send a message from the car's page. It goes straight to the dealership or the owner. Then go see it, drive it and have it checked.

On every car

What you'll find on a car's page.

Real photos and a 360 view

Pictures from the seller's own lot, and where available a walk-around you can turn with a finger.

A price rating

Great, good, fair or high, compared with similar cars listed here and adjusted for mileage. It only shows when there are enough comparisons, and it's a guide, not an appraisal.

A payment estimate

Try a down payment, rate and term to see what a monthly payment might look like. It's an estimate, not an offer.

Questions

About buying here

Is the price I see the price I'll pay?

It's the seller's asking price. On dealer cars, tax, title, registration and the dealer's documentation fee are extra, and the dealer will confirm the full price before you buy. Where the dealer has set its fees, the car's page shows an estimated out-the-door total.

Who am I messaging?

The dealership or the owner, directly. There's no middleman.

Do private owners see my details?

Only what you put in your message. Owners' names, phone numbers and emails stay hidden from you too, and you message them through Car Central.

Does BuyCarCentral sell the cars?

No. Each car is sold by the dealership or owner who listed it. BuyCarCentral doesn't own, inspect or sell them, and isn't part of the sale.

What's the blue check?

It means we confirmed the dealer's state license. New dealers can list before that check and show as Unverified until it's done.
